By utilizing available printing capacity at partner printing companies in Lower Saxony, Berlin, and Rhineland-Palatinate, dieUmweltDruckerei can maintain its stringent sustainability standards while ensuring the highest quality.
Low-emission production and resource-saving materials
DieUmweltDruckerei is committed to using resource-conserving materials and low-emission production. The recycled paper they use and the bio-based printing inks, which replace mineral oil-based components with renewable raw materials, are just two examples of their sustainable approach. Furthermore, their network operates with electricity from renewable energy sources and offsets unavoidable CO2 emissions through investments in eco-social climate protection projects. Awarded the German Award for Sustainability Projects
The award ceremony took place at the Bertelsmann headquarters in Berlin.

Another highlight is the recent award given to UmweltDruckerei, the German Award for Sustainability Projects 2024, in Berlin. This prize was awarded to the eco-friendly printing company for its ongoing support of climate and species protection projects. Of 342 nominated projects, 70 were selected by a distinguished jury, and UmweltDruckerei took first place in the category of non-profit initiatives.
Jury chair Yvonne Zwick of BAUM eV emphasized that the increasing number of nominations demonstrates the growing importance of sustainable business practices and the positive impact of innovative ideas. Brigitte Zypries, patron of the award and former Federal Minister of Justice and Federal Minister of Economics, praised the winners for their impressive commitment and encouraged other companies to also take sustainable steps.

Successful sustainability projects: Charity bike tour with a bamboo bike
The first project of the eco-printing company in 2017 was a fundraising bike tour using an ecologically produced bamboo bicycle from my Boo . The tour went from Hanover to Minsk in Belarus! For every kilometer cycled, the eco-printing company collected donations to raise awareness about the deforestation of Poland's primeval forests.
