The problem of food waste is acute and the challenges are significant, as around 18 million tons of valuable food end up in the trash in Germany every year. That's roughly equivalent to a truckload every minute.
This page offers materials on the topics of food appreciation and food waste. These materials can also help you prepare lessons on sustainability, especially environmentally conscious food consumption, for independent learning, or to playfully promote food appreciation.
You will also find informative posters on the topics of food waste worldwide and food rescue with SIRPLUS, which you are welcome to print out and use as visual material.
The material is primarily aimed at children and young people in grades 3 to 7, but is also exciting for everyone else.
