We are delighted: With a TV budget of three million euros, food rescue is now coming to television - and thus into German living rooms.

An exciting semi-final
We at SIRPLUSSIS sat tensely and excitedly in front of the live stream on July 6th, where our founder Raphael poured all his passion into his presentation to convince the jury of the SevenVentures Pitch Day. The waiting, the nervous anticipation, and the racing hearts were all worth it: We won – despite three incredibly strong competitors who had also made it to the semi-finals!
An enthusiastic jury
Kathrin Nusser, CFO of Flaconi, Joko Winterscheidt, entertainer and entrepreneur, and Florian Weber, CCO of SevenVentures, judged the tenth SevenVentures Pitch Day, deciding between four semi-finalists, with the two favorites advancing to the final. Joko seemed to have been already impressed by a personal anecdote involving Raphael – like Kathrin Nusser, he voted for SIRPLUS in the semi-final, and in the final, the jury was unanimous. For CCO Florian Weber, the combination of a sustainable approach, a relevant social issue, and an attractive, promising business model formed the basis of their decision.

Three million euros budget for rescuing food!
Our prize? A three million euro budget for video advertising with the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, plus funding for a TV commercial! What do we plan to do with it? Raphael already answered the jury's question live: “We will make rescuing food from home even more convenient and launch the delivery of freshly rescued fruits and vegetables in the second half of 2021. At the same time, our goal is to raise even more awareness about the value of food and to rescue even more food together with our current and future customers.”

Our strong competitors
The performance of competitors VYTAL, KoRo Drogerie, and SafeNow was recognized by the jury, as well as by moderator Steven Gätjen and Raphael. Florian Weber emphasized the significant impact of the Pitch Day due to the compelling concepts presented by the participating startups.
In the semi-finals, we competed against VYTAL, whose founder, Tim Breker, developed Europe's largest digital, deposit-free reusable container system for delivery and takeaway meals (we also use VYTAL containers in the bistro of our Charlottenburg Rettermarkt). In the second semi-final group, SafeNow, an app designed to protect people in threatening situations, prevailed against KoRo Drogerie, an online shop that is rethinking the grocery trade with bulk packaging and a direct-to-consumer (D2C) approach. Although we ultimately won the showdown, the final, against the finalist SafeNow, entertainer Joko pledged his support for the future on the spot.
SevenVentures Pitch Day - never heard of it?
The SevenVentures Pitch Day took place for the tenth time this year and has been recognizing startups with innovative ideas since its inception. It is organized by SevenVentures, the investment arm of ProSiebenSat1 AG. For the first time in 2021, the awards ceremony was held as part of the 4GAMECHANGERS Festival.
All semi-finalists: Piran Asci (KoRo), Raphael Fellmer (SIRPLUS), Tilman Rumland (SafeNow) and Tim Breker (VYTAL)
A glimpse into the future
What can you expect from our winnings in the future? We're still working on the details and planning. What is certain is that we will continue to work towards our vision of a world where everyone has enough to eat and all food is consumed.
