😱Deutschland halbiert die ohnehin minimale humanitäre Hilfe 😡 Eine Schande für Deutschland!

😱Germany halves its already minimal humanitarian aid 😡 A disgrace to Germany!

PUKKA – Genuine, authentic and sustainable: A partner for the future Reading 😱Germany halves its already minimal humanitarian aid 😡 A disgrace to Germany! 3 minutes Next 🛑 Scandalous! Millions of food items are wasted every day.

Today is World Food Day, and almost nobody cares.

Every 6 seconds a child dies of hunger, but hardly anyone does anything about it.

Worldwide, 300 million people have starved to death since 1990, and the problem of malnutrition has worsened significantly in recent years.

Due to global climate change, Corona and the war in Ukraine, which produces more grain than any other European country, the number of people suffering from extreme hunger has increased from about 100 million to over 300 million.

The United Nations has set itself the goal of ending global hunger by 2030, but we are currently further away from this than we were five years ago.

Our Earth provides everything we need; we could already feed more than 15 billion people today. But we prefer to feed 60 billion animals annually instead of ensuring enough food for our fellow human beings.

Approximately 50% of the global grain harvest and over 95% of the world's soy harvest are consumed not by humans, but by animals.

The amount of food wasted worldwide alone could feed all 828 million people suffering from malnutrition three times over. Furthermore, food waste is responsible for 10% of all global greenhouse gas emissions and is a major driver of climate change.

Global warming has such a negative impact on people in the Global South, even though they are the least responsible for climate change.

Germany is one of the richest countries in the world, with a total budget of the federal government, states and municipalities of over 1.2 trillion euros annually.

In contrast, there is a ridiculously small budget of a few billion euros for humanitarian aid, less than 0.1% of Germany's total budget – and now it is to be halved.

This is not only an ethical catastrophe, but simply wrong, selfish, and completely contrary to the values of our constitution: "Human dignity is inviolable. To respect and protect it is the duty of all state authority."

The Stuttgart 21 train station alone has already swallowed up over 4.5 billion euros, which is about one tenth of what the World Food Programme says would be needed annually for 10 years to largely end global hunger.

Nevertheless, I remain optimistic that we as humanity can make SDG #2 Zero Hunger a reality. Thanks to the incredible efforts of NGOs like Mary's Meals Germany e.V. , which already provide 2.4 million school meals daily, and to our contribution of two meals per order with SIRPLUS.

We need more awareness of the connections between hunger, food waste, and climate change! Thank you for helping to save, share, and forward this blog post ❤️🌍🙏🏽
