Jetzt wird gerettet was das Zeug hält

Now they're saving everything they can.

SIRPLUS is coming to all of Germany

Yesterday, we celebrated the launch of our second crowdfunding campaign with over 150 people . Over rescued beer and great music, our founder, Raphael Fellmer, reminisced about the past two years and reiterated that it's high time we took action for our planet before it's too late. Here you can watch the evening and the campaign launch, and also get to know the amazing SIRPLUS team:

Since our founding two years ago, we've achieved so much together with you. We've opened four rescue markets in Berlin, launched an online shop, and created more than 80 meaningful jobs. Together, we've saved over 1,500 tons of food from being wasted, making a significant contribution to greater sustainability and climate protection.

Since then, we have received daily inquiries about when the first SIRPLUS rescue market will open outside of Berlin.
And we want to fulfill this wish and, with your support, develop a franchise concept that will bring SIRPLUS to every corner of Germany. Our goal is to raise €75,000 to develop a franchise concept and launch the first franchise pilot by the end of the year. And then we'll be saving lives like there's no tomorrow. All across Germany, in every city, in every town, by everyone.

More than 18 million tons of food are wasted in Germany every year. That's equivalent to a truckload every minute. These foods contain an incredible amount of resources that also end up in the trash. Food waste in Germany means that an area the size of Brandenburg is cultivated for food waste every year. Even Chancellor Angela Merkel addressed this issue in March, confirming that the German government aims to reduce all food waste by 50% by 2030.

We work with producers, wholesalers, and farmers, buying food products that no longer make it into regular retail stores. Reasons for this include overproduction, logistical errors, cosmetic imperfections, and the best-before date.

Currently, these food items are collected throughout Germany by freight carriers and transported to our 1000 square meter warehouse in Berlin Tempelhof. From there, they are distributed to the three rescue markets or shipped to online shop customers. In addition, we make five trips a week to the Berlin wholesale market and collect refrigerated goods from Berlin METRO stores. Our more than 70 employees have developed these and many other processes over the past 1.5 years so that the food you swear by can be rescued.

In order to incorporate the experiences we have gathered into a franchise concept and to prepare our infrastructure for franchising, we are now asking our amazing rescuer crowd for support.
