Hello Neukölln,
After having to say a heavy-hearted goodbye to our very first Rettermarkt in Wilmersdorfer Straße in March, we are pleased to have found a new location after a long search at Karl-Marx-Straße 108 in Neukölln.
For over a week, we worked late into the night in the former FoodOutlet24 store, rearranging things, building shelves, and making the store look nice.
Thanks to the help of the former FoodOutlet24, whose location, inventory, product range, and staff we were able to take over, we were able to open a new store so quickly. Many of you had asked for a SIRPLUS store in the Neukölln neighborhood. Since April 10th, everyone in Neukölln can now rescue food locally and support our mission. Our selection includes not only rescued food but also products that help you live more sustainably, such as toilet paper from Goldeimer and plastic-free reusable water bottles from the Berlin startup soulbottles . And, as in our other rescue markets, we also offer fresh fruit every day from the Berlin wholesale market and our partner Querfeld .
We'd like to thank the team at FoodOutlet24 for letting us take over their former location, and of course, our community. Thank you so much for your continued support and for helping us fight food waste. None of this would be possible without you. Thank you! <3
In the first three months of this year alone, together with you, we were able to save over 500,000 products from the trash. And with our new rescue market, we naturally want to expand on this even further.
