We are delighted to announce that, together with Deutsche Bahn and Selecta Deutschland GmbH, we opened a new vending machine on July 23rd. From vegan chocolate and organic bars to energizing drinks, travelers can now easily satisfy their hunger and thirst on the go.
Rescue between tracks three and four
With nearly 500,000 daily travelers and visitors, the "Rettomat" stands in Germany's second busiest train station, waiting to be emptied. Opposite the market hall, its green wrap immediately catches the eye, drawing passersby's attention to the rescued contents. These will change regularly, but will always consist of practical little snacks for on the go – all rescued and carefully inspected, of course!

Food rescue = our passion!
Our founder and CEO, Raphael Fellmer, is already thrilled about the impact of the initiative: “Food waste is a huge problem. That's why bringing food rescue to the heart of our community is so important to us. The new Rettomat shows how easy and, above all, delicious it can be,” says Raphael, who has already planned his first visit to the “snack vending machine.” “I'm really looking forward to seeing our new Rettomat in action!” He has scheduled a live stream from the machine for August 6th.
Our favorite saying: You say “expired”? We say “saved”!
Beyond the rescued contents, we designed the food vending machine to also educate passersby about the problem of food waste. A sign informs readers that 18 million tons of food are wasted annually in Germany alone. Furthermore, we aim to transparently explain our daily work and food safety practices to visitors to the train station through the signage.
