Yippee! We now have 1,320 supporters who believe in the idea and mission of SirPlus! Truly impressive and wonderful to see how the topic resonates with people and the media!
Over the past few weeks, we've taken a step back to focus on our operational roadmap, hygiene protocols, warehousing, delivery service, job and internship descriptions , and a catering event featuring rescued food. To get things started quickly, we've decided to launch with a temporary pilot food outlet store (a "lean store"), and perhaps you could help us with that?
The reason for this is that our partners are already offering us larger volumes of surplus food, which we naturally want to bring back into circulation as quickly as possible. Therefore, we don't want to waste any time and are now launching the LEAN STORE concept operationally at our Berlin location. The LEAN STORE is essentially the early form of our future system, consisting of a long-term store and delivery service.
For the LEAN STORE, we are therefore looking for a temporary location in Berlin that meets the following criteria:
- Suitable for retail use
- Period: 3-6 months or longer , with a fixed-term lease
- Cost: pro bono or at favorable rates
- Space: 50 - 200 m² (with water, electricity and ideally storage space)
- Location: Within the Berlin S-Bahn ring (preferably in or near Schöneberg) with high foot traffic
- Ideally, the property is already empty, for example due to renovations, and can therefore be used cheaply or free of charge.
- Ideally, little to no remodeling/renovation is needed, without requiring a modern or freshly renovated property.
