Dear Zero Waste for Zero Hunger Community,
We made history! 🎉
On August 19th, we set a world record together – and it was simply incredible what we achieved: 187,076 rescued products , including 75,000 vegan schnitzels and cheese medallions , distributed free of charge to over 3,000 people at the Malzfabrik in Berlin. 🥇🌍
But the road to get there was anything but smooth – because just before it was due to start, disaster struck: The fully loaded refrigerated truck was there, but the tailgate wouldn't open! 😱 Over 1,000 people were already patiently waiting in line – but the schnitzels were stuck. Only after 30 minutes of repairs , a battery change , and a lot of nail-biting tension was it finally possible: The truck was open, and the rescue could begin! 🙏🏻💚
A huge thank you to everyone who participated – whether as a volunteer, partner company, or supporter. A special thank you to Bianca Heinicke, Janka Alwon, Timothy Hill, Nathan Goldblatt, and David Rau – this day wouldn't have been possible without you. With over 70 volunteers , 30 partner companies , and the thousands of people who came along, we sent a powerful message for greater appreciation of food and for a world where everyone has enough to eat!
Because food waste often starts at home – roughly half of all wasted products end up in private households. But that's precisely where the solution lies. With every meal saved, every product shared, and every conscious purchase, we change the world – little by little.
The real world record? That was probably our teamwork! 💪
And the best part: We're only at the beginning. Together we will save many more products – for our fellow human beings, our planet, and a future where no one has to go hungry.
