Dear Crowd,
On September 8th, we celebrated the grand opening of our first SirPlus store, and you made it possible! A huge thank you to all of you for your trust and support! We still feel the overwhelming euphoria and excitement of opening day.
Impatiently and well ahead of schedule, our first customers, roving reporters, and lovable helpers waited for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the step over the threshold.
Together we have created something truly special!
As if overnight, the construction site, in which dozens participated, has transformed into a finished shop: the measuring stick becomes a vegetable scale, the hustle and bustle of construction work becomes a hustle and bustle of customers, the hand truck becomes a delivery van, the break falafel becomes rescue goods, and the scaffolding becomes a balloon garland.
The shared euphoria was truly special and warmed our hearts immensely. Because it can never be said often enough, we send our heartfelt thanks once again to all of you, to all your helping hands, and to all your hearts that believed in us!
Partners, sponsors, supporters and helpers are also immortalized and honored on our 'Wall of Fame' in the store.
Alongside the 'Wall of Fame', our small but exquisite first selection of rescued food is now shining brightly. It has everything a food rescuer's heart could desire: We rescue all those foods that have gone astray and guide them back to the plate. Our assortment always has room for surprises. To start, we have packaged dry goods, fruits and vegetables (these usually arrive in the afternoon), baked goods, and all kinds of drinks. We're still waiting for chilled items, but we'll add them to our selection soon, and together with you, we'll ultimately rescue everything that's still edible!
In addition to rescued food, we'll soon be sharing tips on how to rescue food. We have a mission: We want to restore the value all food deserves, whether it's too crooked or too big, past its expiration date or has minor imperfections, and get it to where it will still be eaten! Together with you, we want to realize our vision of a world without food waste and raise awareness of the problem and its solutions among everyone who is just getting to know us. On our website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel, we'll share information on how we can all contribute to making food waste a thing of the past and getting closer to our vision together.
We are still looking for motivated interns who want to get involved in our store , warehouse , marketing , customer service , IT support , HR , business development , or as a general assistant to help us achieve great things together! We also have a full-time Warehouse, Delivery & Logistics Manager position available. You can find details about the various roles on our website under 'Jobs & Internships'. We look forward to meeting new people!
Your faces are most welcome in the store. Come and visit us! And for those of you traveling a long way to Berlin, you can look forward to the 'Rescue Box,' in which we send rescued food on its way to you, thus returning it to the cycle of life and appreciation. The first Rescue Boxes will be sent out at the beginning of October, and everyone will have received their thank-you gifts by Christmas at the latest. We're working hard to get your packages to you as quickly as possible! Thank you so much for your patience and trust!
