Did you know that our rescued products are not only available in our rescue markets in Steglitz, Neukölln, and Friedrichshain, but also in Prenzlauer Berg? Since April, we've had a SIRPLUS shop-in-shop in the Vetzgerei Berlin !
The Vetzgerei has made a name for itself in the charming Helmholtzkiez neighborhood and throughout Berlin with its delicious vegan home-style cooking, plant-based cold cuts, and fresh spreads . Not only does the shop at Raumerstraße 36 combine the classic "butcher shop counter feeling" with a tasteful ambiance, but the Vetzgerei also proves with its purely plant-based delicacies that hearty enjoyment doesn't require animals or industrial production methods. In fact, they work almost exclusively with unprocessed ingredients . At the Vetzgerei, you can not only stock up on treats for a substantial snack, but also indulge in the lunch menu featuring seitan patties, vegan meat salad , and other daily specials.
The butcher shop team, consisting of seven friendly employees, strives to practice sustainability holistically – which also includes waste prevention . To reduce plastic waste and single-use packaging, they have introduced a deposit system with reusable glass jars . You can buy salads, spreads, and other items in a deposit jar, which you can reuse at home, return on your next visit to the butcher shop, or simply have refilled.
Appreciation for food plays a key role at the butcher shop – just as it does at SIRPLUS. That's why almost all the ingredients used are certified organic, seasonal, and regional. Leftovers don't end up in the trash, but are donated to food rescue organizations and SIRPLUS partners like Foodsharing or Too Good To Go . To further reduce food waste, the butcher shop has also partnered with SIRPLUS and offers a wide range of products that we've rescued from the bin.
